Mission: To accelerate discovery of innovative treatment approaches for the most serious childhood diseases and disorders

Launched in 2006 as a multidisciplinary, innovation-based research partnership between St. Louis Children's Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine

Research is being conducted within four key centers:
     Congenital Heart Disease Center
Center for Musculoskeletal and Metabolic Diseases
     McDonnell Pediatric Cancer Center
     Center for Pediatric Pulmonary Disease

More than 100 grants have been awarded to researchers since the Institute's inception

More than $32 million has been invested in research projects to date (2006-2013)

Awardees have leveraged their initial "seed funding" to gain $114 million in additional governmental and non-governmental funding sources.

Donor support encourages creative collaborations to conduct research that otherwise wouldn't have been possible.
