We begin 2009 with the announcement of new grant awards to fifteen bright, young investigators. Their projects, selected from among a host of exceptional proposals, will answer novel questions about human biology and the genetic foundations of childhood diseases.
These investigators represent seven departments and two schools at Washington University. In addition, seventeen collaborators named in the projects will further extend the scope of disciplines that have come together to focus on specific issues in pediatric medicine.
In 2009, our Centers, now rich with talent, will become focal points for robust discussion and the interdisciplinary connections that generate new areas for exploration.
We warmly welcome our new primary investigators and congratulate those whose work has earned additional grants in 2009.
