Initial proposals must be submitted by August 1, 2007. Following internal review, selected investigators will be invited to submit a complete (NIH format –10 pages maximum) proposal for detailed review by the Scientific Advisory Board. Selection for full proposals will be highly competitive. It is expected that each of these proposals will be far-reaching in innovation and involve a novel, interdisciplinary, team-based approach to discovery that reflects the mission of the CDI.

Budgetary Issues
A preliminary budget must be included within the 3-page limit for the initial proposals. These budgets need not be itemized but must account for 20% indirect costs for laboratory-based research and 10% indirect costs for all other proposals. Complete proposals will require a detailed budget with these same indirect cost considerations.
Funding Objectives of the Children’s Discovery Institute
